Immigration Evaluation Training for Mental Health Professionals

ABOUT OUR IMMIGRATION EVALUATION TRAININGS

Psychological evaluations for immigration court are a specialized area of practice that require specific clinical knowledge, forensic methodology, and familiarity with immigration law. Most graduate programs do not train clinicians in this work — and yet the demand for qualified evaluators is significant and growing.

Dr. Mariela G. Shibley has been conducting immigration evaluations since 2007, has completed over 4,000 evaluations, and is the author of Conducting Immigration Evaluations: A Practical Guide for Mental Health Professionals (Routledge, 2022) — the definitive resource in the field. She has trained many of the clinicians currently conducting immigration evaluations in San Diego and works with psychologists and therapists across the country through her training platform, PsychEvalCoach.

Whether you are new to immigration evaluations or looking to deepen your existing skills, PsychEvalCoach offers the training, tools, and community you need to conduct competent, ethical, and effective evaluations.
