I am a first-generation American, born to South African parents, and raised in Orange County, CA. I earned my Psy.D. in Clinical Psychology from The Chicago School of Professional Psychology in Orange County, CA (an American Psychological Association accredited program). I received my Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from California State University, Fullerton and my Master of Arts degree in Clinical Psychology from the American School of Professional Psychology at Argosy University, Southern California.
I have clinical experience working with a wide range of individuals from diverse cultural backgrounds, including children, adolescents, adults, and older adults. I have also worked in a variety of settings, including inpatient, residential, intensive outpatient programs, community mental health, and private practice. In addition to conducting psychological testing and assessment, I provide individual therapy to adolescents and adults presenting with various concerns. My areas of specialty include anxiety, depression, trauma, substance abuse, stress management, family and relationship issues, adjustment difficulties, and self-esteem or other identity issues.
My approach to therapy involves a holistic and collaborative process; we will work together on your personal journey of growth, change, and empowerment. I integrate multiple therapeutic modalities to best fit your individual needs, including CBT, DBT, internal family systems, psychodynamic, and mindfulness-based approaches. As I believe that the therapeutic relationship is a vital aspect of therapy, my goal is to provide a safe, trusting, nonjudgmental therapeutic space for you to feel secure, understood, and supported in. Furthermore, I view each individual as having their own unique journey. Therefore, I emphasize learning about your subjective experiences and personal narratives, including how you view yourself, others, and the world. As we work on your goals together, I will assist you by providing you with effective tools to utilize while also helping you identify and strengthen your own internal resources.
Should you be interested in discussing your specific needs and goals and possibly setting up an appointment, please contact me. I look forward to speaking with you!
