Immigration laws place the burden of proof on the applicant or beneficiary to show psychological distress. This is often aided by a psychological assessment or expert testimony by a mental health professional.
Since 2007, we have conducted over 2,000 evaluations for USCIS and Immigration Court. Dr. Mariela G. Shibley is a leading expert in this type of assessments, providing court testimony, training, and education on immigration and mental health. She is a regular guest speaker at conferences of the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA), the founder of PsychEvalCoach, and the author of best selling book: Conducting Immigration Evaluations: A Practical Guide for Mental Health Professionals.

Typically, an evaluation consists of a one-on-one interview followed by a number of psychological instruments to assess your current symptoms. These instruments are really questionnaires in pencil and paper. Results from the instruments are then scored and interpreted, and they are integrated into the narrative gathered from the interview. A report is then drafted and sent confidentially to you or to the attorney handling your case.
Because we know immigration proceedings can be costly, and your current situation may involve a financial hardship, we offer a reduced fee for these types of reports. This fee ranges between $800 and $1200, depending on the type of report you need.
