psychological associate*
CA PSB 94027083

I am a Chilean-American. I was born and raised in the San Francisco Bay Area following my parents emigration from Chile. My passion for psychology sparked as a transfer student at UC Davis and led to my current doctoral candidacy at The Wright Institute in Berkeley, California.

My experience and training includes providing therapy in Spanish and English at community-based organizations, college counseling centers, and high schools. My approach to therapy is collaborative and grounded in exploring and building awareness around the many things that influence how we think and act. My clinical interests include intergenerational trauma, identity development, acculturative stress, understanding complex family dynamics, and LGBTQ+ related concerns.

My professional interests include immigration evaluations, creating resources and supportive services for underrepresented students, and advocating for a decolonized approach to clinical training. In 2022, I was recognized by the California Psychological Association for my accomplishments in advocacy for education and training in Clinical Psychology and was awarded the Doris Penman Student Advocacy Award in Clinical Psychology Education and Training.

As a psychological associate, I work under the supervision of Dr. Mariela G. Shibley as I pursue licensure in the State of California. I would be happy to discuss your needs and see if we can work together to improve your quality of life.

* Psychological associates are clinicians who hold an advanced degree in the mental health field and who work under the direct supervision of a licensed mental health professional. They have completed all coursework required for their degree and are accruing hours for licensure status.
